{"id":50088,"date":"2021-06-08T16:21:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T23:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/man-on-electric-scooter-killed-in-collision-with-semi-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2021-06-11T10:51:11","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T17:51:11","slug":"man-on-electric-scooter-killed-in-collision-with-semi-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/man-on-electric-scooter-killed-in-collision-with-semi-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Man on electric scooter killed in collision with semi in Kent | Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 55-year-old man died after his electric scooter collided with a semi at about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 in Kent near the intersection of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GP846mBGGXHVF4xg7\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Avenue North and West Meeker <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GP846mBGGXHVF4xg7\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Craig Hatfield died from blunt force injuries to his torso, according to the King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Office June 9 media report.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses told officers that Hatfield reportedly weaved in and out of traffic and did not appear to see the semi making a right turn onto Washington Avenue South from West Meeker Street, according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<p>Hatfield initially spoke with officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel but later died on scene from his injuries, according to police.
