Sound Transit has extended the deadline for the Kent/Des Moines transit-oriented development survey until June 7.

Sound Transit owns land next to the future Kent/Des Moines Link light rail station on the West Hill that will be available for development after the agency completes light rail construction. The extension from SeaTac to Federal Way is scheduled to open in 2024.

The nearly 4 acres, north of South 240th Street between Pacific Highway South and 30th Avenue South, is currently being used to store construction equipment and house mobile offices while the future Kent/Des Moines light rail station is being built.

Sound Transit is partnering with the city of Kent to create a vision for future development near the station, and wants to know what kinds of services and spaces would be most beneficial for the growing community.
