{"id":49696,"date":"2021-05-11T10:05:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T17:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-officer-shoots-injures-man\/"},"modified":"2021-05-11T10:07:44","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T17:07:44","slug":"kent-police-officer-shoots-injures-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-officer-shoots-injures-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Police officer shoots, injures man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Kent Police officer shot and injured a man Monday night, May 10 at the Homestead Apartments <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/1HxYyhLUsCCBTLYRA\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in the 20600 block of 108th Avenue Southeast<\/a> in the Panther Lake area.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting occurred at about 9:40 p.m., according to Kent Police. Officers performed life-saving measures on the man. He was conscious and alert as paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>Police placed the officer, who was not injured, on administrative leave as required under department policy.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Police did not release any details about why the officer responded to the apartment complex or what led to the shooting. Police also didn&rsquo;t release the age or hometown of the man injured.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Police said they have turned the case over to the Valley Independent Investigative Team. That group is a multi-agency team of investigators from seven South King County police departments (Auburn, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Renton, Port of Seattle and Tukwila).
