{"id":49372,"date":"2021-04-05T21:02:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T04:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/second-fatal-shooting-in-two-days-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2021-04-05T21:07:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T04:07:16","slug":"second-fatal-shooting-in-two-days-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/second-fatal-shooting-in-two-days-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Second fatal shooting in two days in Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another fatal shooting shook the city of Kent as a 23-year-old man reportedly killed a 37-year-old woman Monday afternoon, April 5 <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/DqhG5UM4JKCiBaGU8\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in the 400 block of Novak Lane at the Alderbrook <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/DqhG5UM4JKCiBaGU8\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apartments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the sixth homicide in Kent so far in 2021, fourth in the last 15 days in the city and the second in two days at the Alderbrook Apartments. Five were shootings and one was a stabbing. Kent had eight homicides in 2020, four in 2019 and seven in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded at about 4:35 p.m. to the report of a shooting, according to Kent Police. When officers arrived, they located a woman with a gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR on the woman as medics responded to conduct advanced life-saving measures. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but did not survive her injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Initial information is that the Kent was in an argument with a Kent man, prior to him allegedly shooting her. The man remained on location when officers arrived and they took him into custody to be interviewed by detectives.
