{"id":49288,"date":"2021-03-30T10:33:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T17:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/man-fatally-shot-on-kents-east-hill\/"},"modified":"2021-03-30T12:06:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T19:06:48","slug":"man-fatally-shot-on-kents-east-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/man-fatally-shot-on-kents-east-hill\/","title":{"rendered":"Man fatally shot on Kent&#8217;s East Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man was fatally shot in the head early Tuesday morning, March 30 <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/CJr2MBrwPCwAJDAT7\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in the 23800 block of 110th Avenue Southeast<\/a> near the Mosaic Hills Apartments on the East Hill in Kent.<\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived at about 2:10 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Kent Police. He had a pulse and officers started CPR, but the man died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A K-9 unit tried tracking the suspect, but the man was not found. Witness information led officers to believe the victim and suspect knew each other.<\/p>\n<p>Police did not release where at the apartment complex they found the man or his age and hometown. Police also did not release any suspect information.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have any information to call the tip line at 253-856-5808 or to send an email at KPDTipline@kentwa.gov, reference case number 21-3519.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second fatal shooting in nine days on the East Hill, and only about 2 miles apart. Avery Wilcox Jr., 27, of Tukwila, died of a gunshot wound to the head on March 21 in a parking lot in the 10400 block of SE Kent Kangley Road. He was found inside his vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect knew Wilcox, according to police. No arrest has been made.<\/p>\n<p>The latest case is the fourth homicide so far this year.
