The Kent School District will allow a limited number of spectators at high school sporting events.

No fans were allowed when games began March 12 at Kentwood, Kentlake, Kent-Meridian and Kentridge due to COVID-19 restrictions. But the district worked with other North Puget Sound League superintendents, principals and athletic directors to offer free access to fans to as many home contests as possible, according to a March 23 Kent School District statement.

Gov. Jay Inslee eased the restrictions this month on fans attending sporting events with the move to Phase 3 of the reopening plan.

A limited number of spectators will be allowed at high school events for free in Kent under the following guidelines:

• Only two spectators will be admitted per home team athlete, including participating cheer and dance teams.

• Spectators must follow state Department of Health (DOH) guidelines by wearing a mask and social distancing with 6 feet between groups.

• Spectators must participate in a wellness screening before entering the event.

• Student only allowed with adult.

Spectators who do not follow the expectations may not be allowed to enter the event. Please note that seating capacity varies by venue.

All families and fans can watch livestreams of high school events for free by school and sport. Go to the school’s website for information.
