Museum social event scheduled for Aug. 9<\/b><\/p>\n
The Kent Historical Museum has scheduled its sixth-annual Antique Automobile Show and Ice Cream Social for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9. The annual museum fundraiser event features an old-fashioned hot-dog stand, live music, and 25 cars from the Golden Era Automobile Association, all at the historic Bereiter Mansion, 855 E. Recycling event open for businesses<\/b><\/p>\n
Local businesses can bring non-hazardous office waste for recycling 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14 during the Kent Business Recycling Event at Russell Road Park, at the corner of Russell Road and South 240th Street. Accepted materials include: cardboard, CDs, cell phones, computer equipment, fluorescent lights, plastics, and scrap metal. The limit is one load per business. For details, call 253-856-5549.<\/p>\n
Dog-training center slates open house<\/b><\/p>\n
Family Dog Training Center will offer an open house from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 16 at the center, 7034 S. 188th St., Kent. Attendees can participate in two free workshops during the event: \u201cIntroduction to Dog Agility\u201d from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and \u201cBehavior Problem Solving\u201d 3 to 5 p.m. Advance registration is required for both workshops.
