The Seattle Thunderbirds will open the short 2020-2021 Western Hockey League season against the Spokane Chiefs on March 19 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.<\/p>\n

The season will consist of 24 games, 12 at home and 12 on the road, against the U.S. Division teams Spokane, Tri-City, Everett and Portland. Due to COVID-19 protocols, fans will not be allowed at games.<\/p>\n

All 24 regular season games will be streamed live on the new WHL Live on CHL TV. The league announced the launch of the all-new streaming service on Feb. 24, the same day schedules were released.<\/p>\n

Home openers for each team will be streamed for free at watch.CHL.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For $59.99, fans can enjoy full access to all WHL games, beginning Friday, Feb. 26, when the Central Division initiates the league’s return to the ice. A 24-hour pass is available for $6.99, which delivers you scheduled games as well as access to archived games.<\/p>\n

Seattle will have a special season ticket holder price for the WHL Live on CHL TV, which will be announced in the coming days, according to a T-Birds news release.<\/p>\n

All Seattle games will be broadcast on 1090 KJR radio, streamed live on the 1090 KJR website and available on the iHeart Mobile App on Google Play and the App Store.<\/p>\n

Winterhawks in Kent<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in Oregon, the Portland Winterhawks have scheduled their two home games in March at the ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n

Portland will play at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, March 21 against Spokane and at 6:05 p.m. Friday, March 26 against Everett.<\/p>\n

Future home sites for Portland have yet to be determined based on whether the team is allowed to play in Oregon. If not, the Winterhawks will continue to play home games in Kent.<\/p>\n
