Kent Police arrested a 31-year-old Tacoma woman for investigation of first-degree assault after she reportedly stabbed a 36-year-old man.<\/p>\n
Multiple officers responded just after midnight on Jan. 1 to the Arbor Chase Apartments, 1615 W. Smith <\/a>St.<\/a>, to a report of a woman stabbing a male acquaintance in his apartment, according to Kent Police. The woman fled prior to officers arriving.<\/p>\n Police rendered aid to the man, who paramedics transported to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n Later that same day, the woman returned to the man’s apartment and began demanding entry, kicking on the door. The occupants called 911 and the woman fled a second time.<\/p>\n An officer reviewed a suspect photo that had been captured through the investigation and identified the woman from previous police contacts.<\/p>\n Detectives picked up the case, developed probable cause to arrest the woman for felony assault and obtained an arrest warrant. Efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect were ongoing over the course of several days.<\/p>\n At about 1 a.m. on Jan. 5, officers responded to a 911 call at the Dockside Apartments, 23605 62nd Ave. <\/a>S.<\/a>, and reports of the woman armed with a handgun, according to police. One of the occupants of the apartment fled to the safety of responding officers. Officers obtained information that confirmed the woman was still in the apartment armed, and that the remaining three occupants, which did not include the man stabbed on Jan. 1, did not appear to be free to leave.<\/p>\n Due to the woman being armed with a handgun, the fact that she had recently stabbed someone, her history of other violence and the presence of potential hostages, the Valley SWAT Team, including hostage negotiators, were called in to assist. Patrol officers surrounded and contained the apartment.
