Maintenance work by King County continues along a dozen miles of levees that protect the cities of Renton, Tukwila and Kent from Green River flooding and will require temporary, intermittent closures of sections of the Green River Trail, which sits atop the levee system through the Green River Valley.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Upcoming closures:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022 Aug. 10-13, with a possible extension to Aug. 14: The Green River Trail in Kent will be closed from South 262nd (Alder Lane)<\/a> to the Green River Road trail head. This stretch of trail will reopen for the weekend of Aug. 15-16, however portions of the trail could still have unpaved surfaces, and trail users are urged to use caution.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022 The trail segment between State Route 181 and the trail bridge south of South 180th Street is closed by the City of Kent and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for levee reconstruction.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
