A sampling of Kent Police incidents from Oct. 24 through Nov. 8:<\/p>\n

Oct. 24<\/strong><\/p>\n

Armed robbery<\/strong>: 8:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to an armed robbery of the Big Foot Java, 23803 West Valley Highway. The suspect was armed with both a handgun and pepper spray. Containment was set up quickly and a Renton K-9 unit responded to assist. After a short track, it is believed the suspect was picked up by a vehicle as a witness observed a suspicious vehicle driving around the area during this time. The suspect was not located.<\/p>\n

Oct. 27 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Shooting<\/strong>: 9:46 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at CityZen Apartments, 10925 SE 259th St. The reporting party reported two shots fired through their sliding glass door. Upon arrival officers found four apartments and one vehicle that had been struck by gunfire, but no people were shot. As officers were processing the scene dispatch advised a subject had walked into Valley Medical Center in Renton with a gunshot wound to the head. The subject was uncooperative with responding officers and refused to provide any information and did not allow photos to be taken. He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries. In total, officers recovered 17 casings from the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Oct. 29 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Wanted suspect<\/strong>: The police chief from Moody, Texas called and requested Kent Police to look for a wanted suspect at the Apex Apartments, 24849 46th Ave S. The suspect was wanted for sexual assault of a child, bail was $1.1 million. Officers were able to locate and take the suspect into custody without incident.<\/p>\n

Oct. 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

SWAT call<\/strong>: 9:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call with a gun at Chandler’s Bay Deli, 1018 Central Ave. N. The suspect was last seen with a gun he pointed at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. Officers surrounded his apartment and attempted to contact the female who is the renter of the apartment, who also is the suspect’s other girlfriend, but she denied the suspect was there and refused to allow officers to enter the apartment. Officers obtained a warrant, and with the assistance of SWAT, the suspect was arrested for felony harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm. As the suspect was being transported to jail, he provided the name of the second male inside the apartment, whom originally lied about his name. That second male had a homicide warrant out of Missouri, and after confirmation of the warrant he was arrested and booked.<\/p>\n

Nov. 1 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Homeowner gets gun<\/strong>: 10:59 a.m., dispatched to 27300 137th Ave. SE, after a homeowner\/victim yelled at a driver to slow down. The two suspects parked nearby and confronted the victim and assaulted him, then threatened to shoot him as they left. When the suspects started walking back to his house, the victim went inside and got his gun. The victim ordered them to the ground, which they complied until police arrived. Officers determined the vehicle the suspects were in was stolen. Both 16-year-old suspects were arrested.<\/p>\n

Nov. 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stabbing<\/strong>: 1:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to CityZen Apartments, 10925 SE 259th St., for a stabbing. Officers arrived and found a victim with multiple stab wounds to his upper chest area. First officers arriving applied chest seals to his chest. Medics then performed life-saving measures. The victim was eventually transported to Harborview with life- threatening injuries. There was no known suspect.<\/p>\n

Nov. 6 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Shooting victim<\/strong>: 3:16 a.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 700 block of Second Avenue South. At least one suspect forced entry to an apartment and fired several rounds at the victim. The victim was struck once in the right arm and transported to Harborview.<\/p>\n

Racer emphasis patrol <\/strong><\/p>\n

On Oct. 23, Kent Police participated in a racer emphasis patrol in the north end of Kent:<\/p>\n

■ Five agencies were involved<\/p>\n

■ 54 suspects were contacted for unlawful race attendance; 53 of them were cited for that and other offenses<\/p>\n

■ 1 reckless driver was cited<\/p>\n

■ 27 vehicles were impounded<\/p>\n

■ 2 illegally possessed guns were seized from those arrested at the street race<\/p>\n

■ Emphasis units also stopped one DUI driver (non-racer) which was turned over to Washington State Patrol<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
