California-based Foster Farms donated 75,000 servings of chicken to the Northwest Harvest warehouse in Kent to continue to contribute to COVID-19 hunger relief efforts.

Semi-trucks delivered close to 19 tons of chicken on Wednesday, Sept. 30, according to a Foster Farms news release. Washington families are among recipients of the company’s donation of close to 3 million servings of poultry across the West Coast.

“Up and down the West Coast and in communities where we live and work, the economic effects of COVID-19 show no sign of letting up,” said Foster Farms vice president of communications Ira Brill. “We are happy to support the important work our longtime food bank partners are doing to fight hunger amid unprecedented demand for food that is expected to last long beyond the pandemic.”

The Northwest Harvest warehouse is at 22220 W. Valley Highway. The agency is Washington’s leading hunger relief agency – supporting a statewide network of 375 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools.

Earlier in the pandemic, family owned Foster Farms donated 75,000 servings of poultry to Northwest Harvest among the donation of 2.4 million servings of poultry to food banks and hunger relief organizations on the West Coast, and in Louisiana and Alabama. The donations are a continuation of a decade-long commitment to fighting hunger and responding to community need in time of crisis. Foster Farms encourages others to join in its efforts by donating to their local food bank.
