Eddie Goodman, a homeschooled sophomore, took time away from school to spend the week of Feb. 24-28 participating in the Senate Page Program at the state Legislature. He was sponsored by Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn) of the 47th Legislative District.

Goodman was one of 25 students ages 14 to 16 who took part in the program during the seventh week of the 2014 legislative session. Pages deliver mail, run errands, present the flag and learn parliamentary procedure firsthand. Students also try their hand at drafting a bill and engage in a mock session.

“I decided to participate in the page program because my friends told me about it and I thought it would be fun,” said the 16-year-old Goodman.

In his spare time, Goodman, son of Eddie and Cheryce of Kent, enjoys playing the guitar, piano, and bass as well as editing videos. After high school, he hopes to pursue a career in either acting or music.
