Huntington Learning Center recently opened a location in Kent, 15423 SE 272nd St. Suite 112, to offer tutoring and test prep services to students in kindergarten through high school.

Certified teachers at the center help students fill skill gaps they may have missed in school that may be causing them to fall behind, including math facts, phonics, vocabulary and other topics.

“We also provide enrichment tutoring for students who are interested in advancing academically at a faster pace than their classroom teacher is going, as well as subject specific tutoring for kiddo’s who need a little more support on their geometry or chemistry school work,” said Megan Newman, the Kent center director, in an email.

The center also helps students prepare for the ACT, SAT or other exams they may be planning to take.

Huntington Learning Center, an accredited educational facility, has more than 300 locations across the nation, including nine in Washington, according to its website. It was founded in 1977 by Ray and Eileen Huntington in Oradell, New Jersey.

The Kent site is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call 253-236-8399.
