Following the actions of several other casinos across Washington, the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn will reopen at 10 a.m. May 26.

“We can’t wait to welcome you back,” the casino posted May 20 on its website and Facebook page.

Face masks will be required to enter the casino. Staff also will use thermal detection technology to monitor people as they enter the casino and anyone with signs of illness will be asked to return another day.

Additional hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the casino floor. People are asked to not shake hands or touch other guests and to follow social distancing guidelines.

Employees will wear face masks. Deep cleaning will continue for all surfaces, including disinfecting machines, chairs, chair bases, machine bases and buttons, according to the casino. There is a strict “do not come to work sick” policy, the casino reports.

The casino will be non-smoking, but designated areas will be set up outdoors for smoking. Some restaurants will not reopen. Poker will remain closed and some table games may be limited.

To support social distancing, the maximum guest capacity will be reduced, and staff may limit the number of people allowed in an area of the casino.

The Tribal Council closed the casino March 17 after Gov. Jay Inslee issued his stay-at-home order because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In late April, the casino laid off employees and put others on furlough.
