The King County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit recovered the body of a 65-year-old man Friday morning from the White River in Auburn after the small boat he was in with another man overturned Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
A man in his 40s managed to swim to shore after the 10-foot boat overturned about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, near the 3400 block of Stuck River <\/a>Drive<\/a>, according to the Sheriff’s Office. A search for the man began Thursday but was called off because of darkness. The Marine Unit returned Friday and found the man just before 8 a.m.<\/p>\n The 911 call came in at 5:27 p.m. Thursday, according to Valley Regional Fire Authority. A full technical response was dispatched which included assistance from Renton Regional Fire Authority, Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, King County Sheriff’s Office, Guardian One, Auburn Police and King County Medic One.<\/p>\n Swift water search teams, drones from the Auburn Police Department and the Guardian One helicopter made multiple efforts to locate the missing man, but ran out of daylight and the search was discontinued.
