Brown, who throws the javelin, came into the meet ranked 16th in the event. With the top 10 individuals advancing, the Charger appeared to be on paper to be a long shot.<\/p>\n<p>That long shot, however, uncorked one of the meet\u2019s biggest gems. Brown ripped off a throw of 155-feet-2 inches, which not only surpassed his previous best, but shattered it by 20-plus feet.<\/p>\n<p>Brown \u201chas a ton of potential\u201d Kentridge coach Al Waltner said.<\/p>\n<p>The same could be said for the rest of the Kentridge team, which quietly advanced 18 athletes on to the district meet.
