The open house is from 1 to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Prothero \u2013 prominent criminal defense attorney, civic leader, community volunteer and coach \u2013 passed away early Saturday morning at his Kent home with family at his side.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Prothero, who waged a two-year battle with lung cancer, was 57.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be sent to either the <a title=\"Kent Parks Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kentparksfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kent Parks Foundation<\/a> or <a title=\"The Husky Swimming Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.huskyswimmingfoundation.com\/donations\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Husky Swimming Foundation<\/a>.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A celebration of Mark Prothero&#8217;s life is Saturday, May 10 at the Kentwood High School Commons, 25800 164th Ave. SE, Covington.
