{"id":45022,"date":"2020-03-17T14:42:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T21:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/male-inmate-dies-at-maleng-regional-justice-center-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2020-03-19T16:37:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T23:37:54","slug":"male-inmate-dies-at-maleng-regional-justice-center-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/male-inmate-dies-at-maleng-regional-justice-center-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Male inmate dies at Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent | Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 60-year-old male inmate who died Monday evening while housed in the King County jail at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent has been identified.<\/p>\n<p>Lawrence Cruickshank died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to a Thursday report from the King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention reported on Tuesday that an inmate had died in the jail.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the standard review process for jail-related deaths, the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention worked with Public Health &#8211; Seattle &#038; King County to conduct an internal investigation. The Kent Police Department also investigated the death.<\/p>\n<p>According to jail records, Cruickshank was booked last August on multiple charges that included several violations of no-contact orders.
