{"id":44390,"date":"2020-02-12T14:46:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T22:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pedestrian-injured-in-collision-with-kent-school-bus\/"},"modified":"2020-02-12T14:46:00","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T22:46:00","slug":"pedestrian-injured-in-collision-with-kent-school-bus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/pedestrian-injured-in-collision-with-kent-school-bus\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian injured in collision with Kent school bus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman pedestrian in her 50s suffered a large and deep cut to her nose after a collision with school bus side mirror about 4 p.m. Monday in Kent <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/rUr75cV7PAMWAYmu9\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at the intersection of East Smith Street and Jason Avenue.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officers learned that the Kent School District bus was making a left turn from northbound Titus Street onto westbound Smith Street, according to a Wednesday email from Kent Police Cmdr. Robert Hollis.<\/p>\n<p>The Kent woman was walking in the crosswalk from north to south when the bus collided with her in the westbound lanes of travel on Smith Street.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It appeared the bus&rsquo; large driver&rsquo;s side mirror struck the pedestrian causing a large\/deep laceration to her nose,&rdquo; Hollis said.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle as a precaution, Hollis said. She was awake and alert and provided a statement to the officers on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The bus had two students on board.
