The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds in a Western Hockey League game 2-0 Sunday night at the accesso ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n
The Silvertips swept the back-to-back, home-and-home meetings, routing the T-Birds 8-0 at Everett on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The T-Birds (18-22-2-1) are in the second wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference, six points ahead of the Tri-City Americans (14-22-4-1). Vancouver, with a record of 19-19-2-2, sits in the first wild-card playoff spot, three points ahead of the T-Birds with a game in hand.<\/p>\n
Everett took a 1-0 lead at 7:26 of the third period on a penalty shot goal from Michael Gut and then made it 2-0 on a power-play goal by Wyatte Wylie at 15:13.<\/p>\n
Seattle pulled goalie Roddy Ross with 2:28 left in the third period for an extra attacker. The T-Birds pressured and forced Everett goalie Dustin Wolf to make several saves.<\/p>\n
Everett iced the puck with 41 seconds left in the game and the T-Birds called a timeout to set up a play. Seattle kept the pressure on out of the timeout but were not able to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n
Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n Thomas Milic made 23 saves in his first career start to lead the Thunderbirds to a 4-2 win over the Regina Pats in front of 5,532 fans at ShoWare on Friday night. Milic was called up to the team Thursday from the Burnaby Winter Club Prep team in the CSSHL. Milic was selected by the T-Birds in the third round of the 2018 Bantam Draft and signed a WHL standard player agreement with the team on Aug. 28, 2018. … <\/p>\n
