Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of assault after a fight broke out among a crowd of more than 30 people at about 12:40 a.m. April 19 at a bar in the 15400 block of Southeast 272nd Street.

The altercation started when one woman reportedly bumped another woman inside the bar. That incident led to an argument between two men who were friends of the women.

The two officers who initially arrived at the bar called for additional officers after they were unable to disperse the crowd that had moved outside to a parking lot. About 20 people were in the rear parking lot when additional officers arrived. Bar employees were picking up tables, chairs and glasses that had been thrown around inside the building when the first two officers showed up.

Police reviewed a videotape from the bar and observed one man as the aggressor and the one who threw the first punch against another man.

The woman walked into the courthouse and asked a security guard if she could use the restroom, according to the report. The guard said he had to search her purse before she could enter. He then found a plastic bag with about 5 grams of of a leafy substance inside the purse. The guard handcuffed the woman and called police. The woman told police she had been waiting outside for her boyfriend, who was in the courthouse, but then she realized she needed to use the bathroom. She also told police she knew she had the marijuana in her purse.

The boyfriend left the house before officers arrived. They later tracked him down at his job in Burien, where they arrested him for investigation of malicious mischief because of the damage to the door. The man told officers he had kicked the door before, but not on that day.

The woman told police that her boyfriend did not live at her house, but he often stayed there. She said she did want him to enter the house because he had hit her before.

Prostitution
