The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 in Western Hockey League play Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane.<\/p>\n

Spokane took a 1-0 lead on goal by Eli Zummack at 2:43 of the first period.<\/p>\n

Seattle tied the game 1-1 at 10:33 of the first on Conner Roulette’s fifth goal of the season. Roulette tipped the puck off the right boards and past a Spokane defenseman. Roulette raced past the defenseman to get the puck and create a breakaway. Roulette skated at Spokane goalie Lucas Parik and beat the goalie on the stick side with a snapshot.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs went in front 2-1 on a power-play goal by Bobby Russell at 16:26 of the first.<\/p>\n

Noah King scored 19 seconds into the second period to give the Chiefs a 3-1 lead.<\/p>\n

Bear Hughes scored a five-on-three power-play goal at 15:50 of the third period to get Spokane’s fourth goal.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds have back-to-back game this weekend in Victoria against the Royals. The two teams play on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They return home to play Spokane on Dec. 10 – a Dave and Buster’s 2-for-Tuesday. All tickets, soda, popcorn, hot dogs and beer have special two-for-one prices. Single-game tickets are on sale online<\/a> and at the accesso ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n
