Two German shepherds that went missing Monday evening in Covington were reunited with their owners after the efforts of a passerby and the Kent Police.

The dogs, one male and one female who each are 6 years old, were lost near Home Depot and Southeast 272nd Street, according to a Lost and Found Pets post on Facebook. Both dogs are considered extremely friendly.

A passerby found the two dogs in unincorporated King County and brought them to the Kent Police Department, said Cmdr. Robert Hollis in an email.

“One of the dogs was chipped and so we were able to track down the owner and get them back to him,” Hollis said.

Officers kept the dogs company in the Kent Police Department until the owners were reached. Dispatchers at Valley Communications Center also assisted in finding the owners on the Lost and Found Pets Facebook page, according to police.

[9,4
["post-43383","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-home","category-news
