Six members of Northwood Middle School were recently honored by the Kent Sunrise Rotary Club.<\/p>\n
Daniela Smith-Casem and Zachary Long were recognized for Academic Achievement. Students Lidya Williams and Thomas Ludwig were recognized for their service and citizenship. Head Night custodian Salvador Contreras and math teacher Peter Peng also were recognized for their work.<\/p>\n
Rotary members, family, guests and honorees gathered to share a meal and honor the six members on Nov. 19 at the club meeting. The motto of Rotary is “Service Above Self.” In keeping with this, the Kent Sunrise Rotary Club dedicates one meeting each month during the school year to honor a middle school in the Kent School District.<\/p>\n
“Supporting education, expanding access to education and empowering educators to inspire more children and adults to learn is part of who we are in Rotary,” Kent Sunrise President Douglas Olsen said.<\/p>\n
