Voters can learn about the candidates running for the Kent City Council during a forum from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Kent Commons Community Center, 525 Fourth Ave. N.<\/p>\n
The event will be hosted by the City of Kent’s Cultural Communities Board. Each candidate will provide brief introductory remarks and answer questions written by Cultural Community Board members.<\/p>\n
The following candidates plan to attend:<\/p>\n
• Incumbent Marli Larimer and challenger Todd Minor for Position No. 1.<\/p>\n
• Hira Singh Bhullar for Position No. 3.<\/p>\n
• Incumbent Bill Boyce and challenger Mizan Rahman for Position No. 5<\/p>\n
• Awale Farah and Zandria Michaud for Position No. 7<\/p>\n
Les Thomas, who is seeking re-election to Position No. 3, told forum organizers he could not make the event because of a conflict that evening as a member of the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Board, said Sara Franklin, vice chair of the Cultural Communities Board.<\/p>\n
