{"id":42508,"date":"2019-10-02T15:32:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T22:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fatality-collision-in-kent-wednesday-afternoon\/"},"modified":"2019-10-03T17:02:59","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T00:02:59","slug":"fatality-collision-in-kent-wednesday-afternoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fatality-collision-in-kent-wednesday-afternoon\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorcyclist killed in Kent crash Wednesday identified | Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 23-year-old man died in the collision Wednesday afternoon in Kent near the intersection of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/K94Thm8EJSug8P2w6\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Willis Street and Washington Avenue <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/K94Thm8EJSug8P2w6\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">South<\/a>, just north of LA Fitness.<\/p>\n<p>Karrell Taylor died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Office media report on Thursday. Taylor was driving a motorcycle that collided with a truck at about 2:39 p.m., according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<p>The truck was turning from Willis Street to get onto southbound Highway 167 and reportedly had a flashing yellow arrow, said Assistant Police Chief Jarod Kasner in an email Thursday. The motorcyclist may have been traveling at an excessive speed, Kasner said.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the truck was cooperative and consented to a blood draw, Kasner said. He did not appear to be under the influence of any substance.<\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived within minutes after the crash and life-saving efforts were immediately undertaken, but Taylor died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The on-ramp to southbound Highway 167 from Willis Street was temporarily closed because of the crash, according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Four deaths in four months<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>This marks the fourth death of a motorcyclist in the Kent area in the last four months.<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; On June 6, Dylan A.
