{"id":42344,"date":"2019-09-20T11:17:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T18:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-to-emphasize-railroad-crossing-safety-on-sept-24\/"},"modified":"2019-09-20T11:20:39","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T18:20:39","slug":"kent-police-to-emphasize-railroad-crossing-safety-on-sept-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-police-to-emphasize-railroad-crossing-safety-on-sept-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Police to emphasize railroad crossing safety on Sept. 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Police officers will be stationed at numerous railroad crossings across the Kent Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to ensure vehicles are not stopping on the tracks.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis patrols are part of the nationwide Operation Clear Track effort in support of Rail Safety Week (Sept. 22-28), according to Kent Police.<\/p>\n<p>Amtrak Police and Operations Lifesaver, the nonprofit rail safety education organization, also will participate. More than 600 law enforcement agencies across the nation will take part.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to raise awareness and enforce state railroad grade crossing and trespassing laws.
