The Tacoma Stars have signed MASL veteran Diego Salas to a deal.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The deal is pending visa approval.

Salas, a 2017-18 MASL All-Rookie honorable mention, was a regular in the El Paso Coyotes lineup. He appeared in 40 games over two seasons with El Paso, including every game during his rookie season. During his first MASL campaign, Salas notched 14 points on eight goals and six assists. Although he only appeared in 18 games last season, four less than his first season, he significantly increased his offensive production, including 13 goals and 10 assists.

“Diego has incredible pace and ability,” said Stars coach coach Nick Perera. “We saw and felt first-hand last season how dangerous he can be, and the impact he can have on a match. I think he’s going to bring a different dimension to our play, and it’s my pleasure to welcome him into the Stars family.”

The Kent-based Stars play Tacoma Narrows FC in a friendly this Saturday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at the Tacoma Soccer Center, 2610 E. Bay St.

The Stars have announced three guaranteed home dates for the 2019-2020 regular season – Nov. 30, Dec. 15, and Jan. 18.
