The city of Kent, King County and other cities have overnight shelters available for homeless populations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The city of Kent will open its Severe Weather Shelter the evenings of Sunday, Jan. 15, Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The shelter is at Kent Lutheran Church,<\/a> 336 Second Ave. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Severe Weather Shelter (open Tuesday, January 10 – Tuesday, January 17)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Veteran’s Memorial Building<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hours of operation: 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Serves men, women and familes<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

9:00 p.m. Check-in and registration. Clients must register at the door. Drop-ins are welcome.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

7:00 a.m. Shelter closes; clients must vacate<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Separate areas for men, women, and families. It is safe and confidential. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of all clients<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

and staff and the broader community will apply.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The shelter will be operated by Catholic Community Services staff, and volunteers from Harambee Church and the Renton community.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
