An Irish quartet, Latin music, virtuoso guitarists and more are part of the 2019-2020 Spotlight Series.<\/p>\n

The performing arts series brings exceptional entertainment to Kent. The upcoming season features nine performances, beginning Sept. 27 and running through March 19. <\/p>\n

Tickets may be purchased online at kentarts.com<\/a>, by calling 253-856-5051 or in person at the Kent Commons, 525 Fourth Ave. N. Hours for phone and in-person sales are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Box office is closed on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Spotlight Series is presented by the Kent Arts Commission and Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services and partially funded by 4Culture, Arts WA, WESTAF, National Endowment for the Arts, and a variety of business and individual sponsors.<\/p>\n

JigJam is an award-winning quartet from Ireland that blends the best of traditional Irish music with bluegrass and Americana. Described as ‘the best Irish group so far in bluegrass,’ this sharply dressed outfit deliver an energy-fueled, foot-stomping live performance. Sponsored by Pete and Pat Curran through the Kent Parks Foundation, Edward Jones, and co-sponsored by Judy Woods.<\/p>\n

Che Apalache is a four-man “Latingrass” string band based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico, and the United States. Their cultural and musical exchange has created an authentic blend of genres evoking images from Appalachia to the Andes. California Guitar Trio + Montreal Guitar Trio<\/strong><\/p>\n

Featuring six virtuoso guitarists from four countries, California Guitar Trio and Montreal Guitar Trio fuse over 45 years of combined performing experience into one unique six-by-six string ensemble. Catapult is a shadow dance company that rose to fame on Season 8 of America’s Got Talent, earning their way to the finals of the NBC-TV hit show. Catapult’s amazingly imaginative and theatrical art form combines dance, story-telling, and sculpture. The talented Catapult dancers work behind a screen to create seemingly impossible dancing shadow images of shapes from the world around us.
