Kent Lutheran Church is looking for volunteers to help prepare and serve hot meals to the less fortunate from 5 to 6 Monday evenings.<\/p>\n
The church has hosted a community supper for those in need every Monday evening for more than 30 years. Church members and volunteers make up four teams providing the supper, but it’s not enough, according to church officials.<\/p>\n
Gleaners collect fruits and vegetables from participating grocery stores. Other volunteers work in the morning preparing food, afternoon setting tables, and evening serving food and cleaning up, taking down the tables and chairs and mopping the floor.<\/p>\n
If you’re not able to help in the kitchen, consider joining the Community Supper Board which meets five times per year to coordinate administrative oversight.<\/p>\n
