“We staffed up for the historically busy day\/weekend of the July 4 holiday and did not see the increased call volume we expected,” according to Puget Sound Fire Capt. Joe Root. “Attribute it to cooler weather, mid-week holiday, or just everyone practicing safe behavior. It was relatively quiet until nightfall when there were several fires in our surrounding jurisdictions that we were called to assist with.”<\/p>\n
