King County contractors continue construction on the Kent East Hill Diversion sewer pipeline.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The new pipeline will help provide sufficient capacity to meet Kent\u2019s needs through 2050 and reduce the chance of sewer backups into homes and streets, according to a King County Wastewater Treatment Division Nov. 4 update.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Work Activities:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Nighttime work Nov. 8-11. Crews will work on 111th Avenue Southeast on school property to excavate across the street and install the final segment of the new sewer pipe and a manhole. To minimize extra disruptions to the school and neighbors, work will take place through the weekend during daytime and nighttime hours 24 hours a day if required to complete the work on school property.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
During nighttime hours residents may notice possible noise, vibration and lights from construction equipment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Pipe installation along S.E. 264th St. between 114th Ave. S.E. and school property is planned to be complete by the end of November.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Restoration activities on S.E. 264th St. and school property are expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather dependent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Expect lane restrictions and parking limitations in work zones along S.E. 264th St. Please use caution and obey flaggers and posted traffic signs.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 What to Expect During Construction:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022 Normal work hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cones, signs and flaggers will be used to manage traffic flow and local access<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Increased travel time when driving through the work area<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u2022 Noise and other activity associated with a construction site: work crews, dust, trucks, heavy machinery and excavating equipment<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
