First responders, emergency room personnel and law enforcement officials do what they can to diffuse stressful situations for those involved. With help from a teddy bear, that task becomes a little easier.

The Teddy Bear Patrol, a program created by local radio station – WARM 106.9, helps those interacting with first responders find calmness in stressful situations through the comfort of a teddy bear. This year was the most successful donation drive in over three decades. In the last four weeks, 49,604 bears were collected for the program.

“Every April, we join forces with our generous customers to raise donations for the Teddy Bear Patrol. We had a fantastic turnout in 2018, but the unbelievable efforts of those involved this year helped us nearly double our donation numbers,” said Adam Wampler, SVP of Operations at Bartell Drugs. “It was a complete team effort and I’m so proud of what we have accomplished.”

All Bartell’s locations participated in the donation drive and for every bear purchased, Bartell’s matched the contribution, bear for bear.
