{"id":39765,"date":"2019-03-25T12:30:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T19:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/paving-work-set-for-sr-181-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2019-03-25T12:39:03","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T19:39:03","slug":"paving-work-set-for-sr-181-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/paving-work-set-for-sr-181-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Paving work set for SR 181 in Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Work is starting this week in Kent to repair and pave about one-half mile of <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/NRrbmiBX64E2\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\">State Route 181 (aka Washington Avenue South) between State Route 516 (aka Willis Street) and West James Street<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The state Department of Transportation project begins Monday, March 25, and will be done mostly at night. Work is expected to be completed on July 31, according to the state DOT. Crews also will add pedestrian curb ramps. The work is to address aging pavement before major repairs are needed.<\/p>\n<p>Residents living near the work zone along State Route 181 (Washington Avenue) will hear noise from construction equipment and vehicles as well as concrete cutting. Residents can request free earplugs by calling the DOT noise hotline at 1-888-808-4368, which also is the number for noise complaints.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsdot.wa.gov\/travel\/construction-updates\/king\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"link\">wsdot.wa.gov\/travel\/construction-updates\/king<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the schedule for March 24-28, which includes daytime lane closures:<\/p>\n<p>&#8226; Sunday, March 24, to the morning of Tuesday, March 26 &#8211; Northbound and southbound lane closures at the intersection of SR 516\/SR 181 and the intersection of SR 181\/Meeker Street from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
