Kentridge High School has been recognized for producing a “Best-of” yearbook publication for its 2018 edition.

Indianapolis-based Herff Jones, an achievement division of Varsity Brands and the leading provider of graduation and educational products and services, announced the North America yearbook honors in a Thursday news release.

The company chose 420 schools across multiple categories from the thousands of yearbooks it printed in 2018. Industry experts judged the yearbooks on various design and storytelling elements such as theme, coverage and more.

Kentridge was recognized in the Innovations category for its yearbook cover. The cover celebrates the 50 years of the school, which opened in 1968.

“A layer of plexiglass adds a three-dimensional element to the cover,” according to the judges. “Gold corner rivets, gold foil accents and white silkscreening sit atop green Silktouch base material.”

Jami Weinbrecht is the Kentridge yearbook adviser.

Ten schools in Washington were recognized, including Heritage (Photography); Ingraham (Endsheets); Kamiak (Photography, features & profiles); King’s (Photography); Mead (Photography, anthology); Skyview (Themes & covers, features & profiles, photography); Vancouver School of Arts and Academics (Themes & covers, endsheets, features & profiles, reference sections); White River (Innovations); and Whitworth University (Endsheets).
