The King County Sheriff’s Office has not made any arrests in a Nov. 7 double shooting near Kent because one of the men has refused to speak to detectives.

“We identified the primary aggressor as the one with the more substantial injuries,” according to a statement from the major crimes unit emailed Wednesday by Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ryan Abbott. “He has been released from Harborview (Medical Center in Seattle). The victim has been unwilling to give us a statement, so as of this point nobody will be charged and nothing will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.”

Both men survived after firing multiple shots at each other at about 9 a.m. in the 26100 block of 78th Avenue South in an unincorporated part of the county near the city of Kent border, according to the Sheriff’s Office. It was an altercation between a 29-year-old Pacific man and a 30-year-old Covington man.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released any details about what might have led to the dispute or the connection between the two men.
