The Prince George Cougars shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-0 in a Western Hockey League game Saturday night at CN Centre in British Columbia.<\/p>\n

Prince George (6-8-1-2) took a 1-0 lead at 6:19 of the first period on Cole Moberg’s goal. Tyson Upper had the only assist.<\/p>\n

Seattle (7-6-2-0) outshot Prince George 11-8 in the first period.<\/p>\n

The Cougars made it a 2-0 lead at 6:57 of the second period on a power-play goal by Jackson Leppard. Ryan Schoettler and Moberg had the assists.<\/p>\n

Prince George led in shots 22-20 after two periods by outshooting Seattle 14-9 in the second period.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds got a power play late in the third period and pulled goalie Liam Hughes for an extra attacker. Seattle put several shots on goal but were not able to get the puck past Prince George goalie Tyler Gauthier.<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Prince George 17-5 in the third period and 37-27 in the game.<\/p>\n

Hughes had 25 saves and Gauthier had 37 saves.<\/p>\n

The Thunderbirs return to action Friday for 7:35 p.m. game against the Kelowna Rockets at the accesso ShoWare Center on Friday.<\/p>\n
