Jack Bigford died peacefully on October 12, 2018 at his residence in Kent, WA. Born in Seattle, WA on December 7, 1922, he was a member of “The Greatest Generation.” He served abroad as a cryptographer in the Army Air Force during World War II, achieving the rank of Sergeant.<\/p>\n
Jack subsequently earned Bachelor and Master Degrees in Engineering from the University of Washington. After graduation in1950, he immediately became a mechanical engineer for the Boeing Company where he worked his entire professional career designing systems for Boeing’s commercial airliners.<\/p>\n
He married Catherine Lenard Hamilton in 1950, moved to Lake Meridian in Kent, and together, raised their four children there. He also became an ordained Episcopal Deacon in 1968. He was very active at St. James Episcopal Parish his entire adult life and shared this love of service with his wife Catherine.<\/p>\n
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved Catherine. He is survived by his children, Margaret Habecker Bates (Charles Colby), Rebecca Bigford Erickson (Jerrold), Mark Lewis Bigford (Rhonda Shonka), Benjamin Jay Bigford (Ann Lovell) and grandchildren Catherine Erickson Culp (Blake) and Jerrold Obert Bigford Erickson.<\/p>\n
A memorial service will be held at St James Episcopal Parish on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. and will be followed by fellowship and refreshments in the Parish Hall, 24447 94th Ave. SE, Kent, WA 98030.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
