The Regina Pats defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-2 Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds fought back from a two-goal deficit in the second period only to see the Pats score three goals unanswered goals to get the win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This was the fifth game of a seven-game road trip. The T-Birds finish out the road trip against the Prince Albert Raiders at 5 p.m. Friday at the Art Hauser Centre and against the Saskatoon Blades on at 5:05 p.m. Saturday at the Credit Union Centre.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Regina (8-11-1-0) went in front 1-0 at 10:31 of the first period when Adam Rossignol scored. Jake Rodewald and Lane Scheidl had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Pats made it 2-0 at 12:41 of the first on a goal from Colten Mayor. Dyson Stevenson and Adam Brooks were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds outshot the Pat 15-8 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle (8-9-1-0) cut the lead to one goal 1:51 into the second period on a power-play goal from Shea Theodore. Theodore beat Regina goalie Matt Hewitt with a slap shot. Connor Honey and Alexander Delnov assisted on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds tied the game 2-2 with a second power-play goal in the second period. Jesse Forsberg got a loose puck in the neutral zone on the left side. He fed the puck across the ice to Brendan Rouse straddling the blue line. Rouse gave the puck to Justin Hickman as he charged up the ice. Hickman carried the puck into the right circle and beat Hewitt over the left shoulder with a snap shot.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Regina gave the T-Birds a good opportunity to take the lead when they took penalties 14 seconds apart after Seattle’s second goal. The T-Birds were not able to capitalize on the ensuing five-on-three power play as Hewitt made several very good saves.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Luke Fenske put the Pats back in front when he scored at 11:53 of the second. Morgan Klimchuk and Brooks had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Regina took the two-goal lead back when Scheidl scored a power-play goal at the 15-minute mark of the period. Klimchuk and Colton Jobke registered the assist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Regina 22-7 in the second period and led 37-17 in shots after 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Regina’s fifth goal was scored by Klimchuk at 13:05 of the third period on assists from Scheidl and Emil Sylvegard.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds outshot the Pats 8-7 in the third period and 45-22 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Justin Myles made 17 saves on 22 shots and his record is now 1-3-0-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hewitt stopped 43 of 45 shots and his record improves to 6-7-1-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
