Washington CAN (Community Action Network) is partnering with community organizations to host a South King County candidate forum on Wednesday, Sept. 26, for candidates running in the 30th, 31st, 33rd and 47th Legislative Districts.<\/p>\n
The forum begins at 6 p.m. at the Auburn Union Hall, 201 A St. SW.<\/p>\n
So far, Mike Pellicciotti-D (state Rep. District 30); Linda Kochmar-D (state Rep. District 30); Victoria Mena-D (state Rep. District 31); Claire Wilson-D (state Rep. District 30); Mia Su-Ling Gregerson-D (state Rep. District 33); Mona Das-D (state Rep. District 47); Pat Sullivan-R (state Rep. District 47) and Debra Entenman-D (state Rep. District 47) have committed to attending the forum, organizers said. More commitments are likely to follow, organizers said.<\/p>\n
The forum is an opportunity for community members to ask candidates questions about issues that have directly impacted them, including health care, tenant protections, immigrant rights, mass incarceration, climate justice, workers rights, education and civic engagement .<\/p>\n
The event is co-sponsored by Casa Latina, One America, WAISIN, ACRS, MAPS-AMEN, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii, UFCW 21, Multi-Service Center and IAM 751.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
