For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 Saturday night at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett in the last preseason game for both Western Hockey League teams<\/p>\n The T-Birds finished the preseason 4-3-0-0.<\/p>\n Everett took a 1-0 lead at 4:14 of the first period on a four-on-four goal from Akash Bains. Kyle Walker and Sahvan Khaira had the assists.<\/p>\n Seattle tied it 1-1 at 13:56 on an unassisted goal from Nolan Volcan. The T-Birds’ left winger stole the puck from an Everett defenseman at the top of the left circle, came in alone on Silvertips goalie Dustin Wolf and beat him over the blocker for his third goal of the preseason.<\/p>\n The Silvertips went in front 2-1 at 8:01 of the second period on a goal from Jackson Berezowski. Walker and Bryce Kindopp had the assists.<\/p>\n Volcan scored a second unassisted goal with 15 seconds left in the second period to tie the game 2-2 after 40 minutes. Playing four-on-four Volcan knocked down a ‘Tips defenseman, stole the puck and was in alone on Wolf, beating him with a backhand shot.<\/p>\n Seattle had a 25-16 lead in shots after two periods by outshooting Everett 13-9 in the second period.<\/p>\n Gage Goncalves scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 3:09 of the third period to put Everett in front 3-2.<\/p>\n Both teams had 27 shots on goal.<\/p>\n Seattle goalie Cole Schwebius had 24 saves on 27 shots. Wolf had 25 saves on 27 shots.<\/p>\n
