{"id":35915,"date":"2018-07-25T12:37:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-25T19:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/city-of-kent-to-close-second-avenue-north-on-wednesday-evening\/"},"modified":"2018-07-25T12:40:14","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T19:40:14","slug":"city-of-kent-to-close-second-avenue-north-on-wednesday-evening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/city-of-kent-to-close-second-avenue-north-on-wednesday-evening\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Kent to close Second Avenue North on Wednesday evening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The city of Kent will close <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/S7dQ7XLzenH2\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"map\">Second Avenue North between West Smith Street and West Meeker Street <\/a>from about 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, because of a vigil for Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno at Town Square Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Crews also will close the eastern half of West Harrison Street between Fourth Avenue North and Second Avenue North, according to City Public Works officials.<\/p>\n<p>The vigil begins at 7 p.m. for Moreno, 35, of Auburn, who was killed during a police pursuit on Sunday. He was an eight-year veteran of the force.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service for Moreno is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the accesso ShoWare Center, 625 W.
