SPOKANE – The Spokane Chiefs defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 1-0 Friday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.<\/p>\n

This was the first game of a two-game series between the two teams. They meet again Saturday night in Spokane at 7 p.m. The game on Saturday night is the last game before a two-week holiday break for the Thunderbirds.<\/p>\n

This was the third game of the season between the T- Birds and Chiefs with the T-Birds holding a 2-1-0-0 record in the games.<\/p>\n

Spokane goalie James Reid made 26 saves to get the shutout. His record is now 4-0-0-1.<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres had a solid game, making 20 saves on 21 shots. DeSerres record falls to 4-8-0-0.<\/p>\n

Jared Cowen scored a power-play goal at 13:30 of the first period for the only goal of the game. Brenden Kichton and Levko Koper had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

Spokane (20-9-0-3) outshot Seattle 10-8 in the first period.<\/p>\n

Seattle (13-17-1-2) led 18-14 in total shots after 40 minutes by outshooting Spokane 10-4 in the second period.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds finished with a 26-21 advantage in shots on goal.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds return from the two-week holiday break to face the Portland Winter Hawks at KeyArena on Saturday, December 27, at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n

Single game tickets for the T-Birds’ first game at their new home, the ShoWare Center, on Saturday, January 3, against the Everett Silvertips are currently on sale. Single game tickets can only be purchased on the T- Birds website by clicking on the Single Game Tickets link in the Tickets menu.<\/p>\n

T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825. Purchasing a season ticket will ensure fans can attend the T-Birds first game in their new home, the ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
