State Sen. Joe Fain, R-Auburn, was recently recognized as a national Telly Award winner for two episodes of his Web series, “57 Seconds.”

The series was awarded a Bronze Telly for an episode educating viewers on the key terms and vocabulary used in the Legislature, and a Silver award for a video explaining Fain’s work to protect animals in Washington state.

In 2015, Fain developed the series as a way of connecting government to the public in an easy and accessible way. His series, now in its fourth season, presents videos that turn complex issues into entertaining clips. The education segments are non-partisan and work to rise above the traditional political videos that are either light on substance or use technical jargon that is hard for those not directly involved in state government to relate to.

The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Receiving more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, Telly Award winners represent work from advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.

All 30 episodes of 57 Seconds are available on Fain’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

State Sen.
