The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum hosts author David Williams, who will do a public reading and book signing of his new book, “A Race To Freedom, The Mira Slovak Story,” at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8.<\/p>\n
The book tells the story of Mira, a Czechoslovakian pilot who hijacked an airliner and flew across the Iron Curtain to freedom. He later became the driver of the Miss Wahoo hydroplane.<\/p>\n
The museum is at 5917 S. 196th St., Kent.<\/p>\n
