The inaugural South King County <\/span>Flower & Garden Show \u2013\u00a0featuring experts, guest speaker presentations and vendor booths \u2013\u00a0runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the SeaTac Community Center, 13735 24th Ave. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Proceeds from the show presented by SeaTac Rotary benefit the community at large.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The list of garden experts, guest speaker presentations and vendor booths is diverse. The event is tailored to families with something for all ages.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “Like a touch tank at an aquarium, we’ll have hands-on gardening that gets kids excited about plants, growing vegetables and learning about composting,” said Claudia Claudia Dickinson, SeaTac Rotary volunteer and event coordinator. “It will be a great weekend for outdoor learning in our community.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Vendors will help launch spring with plants and shrubs for sale, local produce, orchids and vegetable starts. Some are bringing honeysuckle vines, hanging baskets, jewelry, “garden bling” and birdhouses.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Information on all things green will be readily available with various garden professionals on hand to help.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The outpouring of support from sponsors, vendors and volunteers has made the show possible.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “The City of SeaTac Parks and Recreation Department has been very supportive and companies like Republic Services have sponsored the event also delivering in-kind assistance to help with marketing materials and messaging,” Dickinson said. “We’ve received widespread support from numerous organizations throughout Puget Sound.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “Businesses came out of the woodwork to sponsor this event,” Dickinson said. “We have many companies like Dollar Sales, Powells Wood, Dantere Management, Cedar Grove and the Highline Botanical Society pitching in to help.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Tickets are $7 adults, $5r seniors, students and free for children under 12.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
