{"id":3476,"date":"2014-07-11T15:31:01","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T22:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/the-heat-is-on-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T13:10:39","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T20:10:39","slug":"the-heat-is-on-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/the-heat-is-on-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"The heat is on in Kent!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>The <a title=\"heat\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wrh.noaa.gov\/sew\/\" target=\"_self\">National Weather Service<\/a> has issued a heat advisory for Kent and the rest of Western Washington from 11 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and mid 90s this weekend with overnight lows in the mid 50s to lower 60s.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is likely and the combination of hot temps and high humidity will create possible heat illnesses.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Take extra precaution if you work or spend time outside. Reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Wear light and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Anyone overcome by heat should move to a cool and shaded location.
