Kentridge High’s Solomon Hines captured the 100- and 200-meter races and anchored the winning sprint relay at the Kent All-City meet at French Field on May 3.<\/p>\n

Hines stopped the clock at 10.85 seconds in the 100, posted a personal-best time of 21.76 in the 200 and anchored the 400 relay that included Nathan Peak, Deontae Roberts and Caleb Barrerain to a winning effort in 43.12.<\/p>\n

Hines has the state’s fifth-best 100 time and the third-best 200 time as teams prepare for this week’s North Puget Sound League championships at French Field. The meet opened Wednesday and concludes Friday.<\/p>\n

The Chargers’ 400 relay has the state’s fourth-best time of 42.79, set on April 26.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Kentridge’s Tyler Cronk tripled, winning the high jump (6 feet, 8 inches), long jump (22-6¾) and triple jump (43-4¾).<\/p>\n

In girls action, Kentwood’s Hailey Suit took the 100 (personal-best 12.05; sixth-best state time this season) and joined three winning relay teams.<\/p>\n

Suit anchored the 400 relay, with Jessica Robinson, Skyler Pollak and Faith Marshall (49.12; state’s fourth-best time this season), and the 800 relay, with Pollak, Robinson and Alyssa Gonzalez (1:44.29; also the state’s fourth-best time this season). Suit led off the 1,600 relay, with Skyler and Emma Pollak, and Ayanna Hollis (4:15.33).<\/p>\n

Emma Pollak added a win in the 300 intermediate hurdles (46.77), and Marshall won the 100 hurdles (15.58).<\/p>\n

Kentlake’s Jordan Fong tripled, taking the shot put (40-5), discus (139-4) and javelin (115-2).<\/p>\n

The Kent-Meridian 800 relay team of Makayla McIntosh, Brianna Kamran, Qwaniah Levy and Olivia Carter) settled for second, but its time of 1:45.09 is ranked No. 7 in the state.<\/p>\n

Kentridge’s Lauryn Ford, who was second in the 100 and 200 meters, won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, the state’s 10th-best mark.<\/p>\n
